Meetings

Our meeting on Monday was a very sucessful one in planning out the group for the rest of the 2009 year. I think we are all super excited about all the things/plans to come!! I sent an email to the members of the group letting them know what all was discussed.

The next group meeting is on Oct. 5th at 1pm at the Kelsay Farms. There is a link the their website under the " Topics for Meetings" on the side bar. Looking forward to another sucessful, learning, yet fun filled Field Trip. Thank you Trisha for setting this up for the group. It is much appreciated!!

Labor Day

We will not be meeting on Sept. 7th due to it being a holiday (Labor Day). We hope everyone has a safe holiday, and we will see you on Sept. 14th for our next meeting!!

Meeting on Monday August 31st

Our group will be meeting on Monday August 31st at 12 noon at the Cascades Park in Bloomington. We will enjoy a picnick lunch and then the kids will have time to be social and play. If you have any questions feel free to send us an email. Thanks!

Group Meeting 8.17.2009

We will be meeting at the park at 1:30 on Monday the 17th. Please wear shoes that allow you to run in for a game of kickball. Mrs. Heather will be incharge:) Hope to see you there!

8/10/09 Group Cancelation

We will not be meeting today due to some rain sheduled. It didn't fit in with what we had planned. Sorry!!

Meeting on July 20th

The MCHE group will be meeting at Heather Vaughts house on July 20th at 2 pm for some Slip N Slide fun!! The kids will have lots of time to play, talk, and be social. If you need directions please send an email!! See you there.

Monday, June 29th our group met at the park to enjoy some time making Ice Cream in a Can. Thanks Kristal for teaching us how to make this yummy treat, and bringing all the supplies! The kids really enjoyed rolling the cans down the slide, down the hills, across the concrete, ect. I am pretty sure they loved EATING the ice cream too!! Here are some pictures of our day.

Meeting on June 15th

Our next meeting is one June 15th at 2pm. We will be doing a fun day at the Park in Martinsville. Possibly a few games like kickball, or water balloon toss will be played. Hope to see you there.

Hunter's Honey Farm Field Trip planned

Morgan County Home Educators group will be meeting at Hunter's Honey Farm in Martinsville on Monday May 18th at 2pm. We will be taking the Forestry Tour along with making candles. The cost is $5 per child (this includes both the tour and candles). This is such a great experience for the kids and they love to see where the honey comes from. There is also a shop at the building where you can purchase honey, honey sticks, and so much more. Please feel free to join us if your interested. Monday May 4th Meeting Info

We will be meeting on Monday May, 4th at Cikana State Fish Hatchery, here in Martinsville. It is located at 2650 State Road 44. Dads are always Welcome!!! We plan on meeting there about 5 minutes before 2 pm just to be ready at 2. Hope you can all make it:)

Monday April 27th Meeting Info

Our next meeting is on Monday April 27th at 2 pm. Please join us for "Helium Balloon Fun" at the park in Martinsville. So neat things for the kids to do, so don't miss it.

Earth Day

Our Monday meeting on April 20th was discussing EARTH DAY. Earth Day is celebrated on April 22nd. The group discussed the different ways to keep the Earth clean and things that we can do everyday. They enjoyed a handout, making a bird feeder, and a yummy snack of dirt pudding with gummy worms. Here are some pics of the kids hard at work.

Meeting on Monday April13th

We have discussed our group, and realized that we are needing to change the day that we meet /on. We will now be meeting on Mondays at 2pm unless posted. Also the meeting place will change so please check our blog or send us and email so we can keep you updated.

We will have our next meeting on Monday, April 13th at Movies 8 in Greenwood, IN. The movie starts at 1pm. If you have any questions please email us.

Meeting on March 19th

Our last meeting was held at Mr. Gatti's on the 12th of March. The kids enjoyed eating a buffet and visiting with thier friends/homeschool group. It was so nice just to be able to sit down and relax for a little bit.
Our next meeting is on March 19th at 12:30. The location will be at the YMCA unless otherwise noted. We will be doing some fun things for St. Patrick's Day, so if there is anything you would like to bring in then please do so. Hope to see you there!

Gatti Day on March 12th at 11AM

On Thursday March 12th our group will be meeting at Mr. Gatti's at 11 AM to enjoy some pizza together. The kids have worked so hard this year and it will be nice just to sit and eat lunch together. Hope to see you all there!!

Meeting on February 26th

Our next group meeting will be on Thursday February 28th, at 12:30 located at the YMCA. Our topic will be "Advertising." This will take up two meetings. The first part we will be learning a little about advertising and thinking of ways to advertise a product. We are going to try to use some simple products and hopefully some of them the kids will be able to enjoy eating afterwards. If you have any products that you feel would be nice for the kids to advertise please bring them in to share. Hope to see you Thursday!!

Valentine Party

We celebrated Valentines Day today at our homeschool group meeting. The kids had fun bringing in thier decorated bags/boxes and valentines to pass out. We enjoyed several activites such as Conversation Hearts~ making sentences with them, cupcake decorating, and lots of goodies. Here are a few pictures of the kids at the meeting.

Our next meeting will be on Feb. 19th, and our topic is "President's." We are planning several activities to do during that meeting. Also we are looking for some ideas for upcoming meetings, so if you have any suggestions feel free to email us and let us know.

Meeting on Jan. 22nd

Hello Everyone! Our next meeting will be on Jan. 22nd and will be held at the YMCA in the preschool room. The meeting will start at 12:30p. We are asking each family to bring in a "Science Expermint" to share with us. It doesn't have to be anything big just a small expermint. We are looking forward to seeing you all there.

Jan. 15th meeting

Our first meeting for the 09 year was held Jan. 15th. This meeting's topic was "Getting to Know Each Other." The kids brought in items that represented the type of person they were. Then we played a getting to know you detective game. The kids really had fun. After that we enjoyed several types of board games such as Bowling, Connect Four, Life, Monopoly Jr.
