Library/Fire Station Tour

On Monday we will meet at the library from 1-2 and socialize and have snack before heading to the Fire Station at 2pm. Our tour will include the smoke house for the kids. Hope to see you all there!

Halloween Party

The kids enjoyed the Halloween Party! There was pumpkin painting, bobbing for apples, pumpkin bowling, candy necklaces, and yummy snacks!!

Halloween Party

We reserved the library conference rooms Monday from 1-3 for our Halloween/fall party. Anyone who wants to may wear a costume, but it is not required. We will have some fun games including pumpkin bowling and bobbing for apples, crafts including pumpkin painting and making a necklace, and snacks including apple cider, pumpkin cupcakes, and fruit salad jack 'o' lanterns. Meetings

Our meeting on Monday was a very sucessful one in planning out the group for the rest of the 2009 year. I think we are all super excited about all the things/plans to come!! I sent an email to the members of the group letting them know what all was discussed.

The next group meeting is on Oct. 5th at 1pm at the Kelsay Farms. There is a link the their website under the " Topics for Meetings" on the side bar. Looking forward to another sucessful, learning, yet fun filled Field Trip. Thank you Trisha for setting this up for the group. It is much appreciated!!

Mrs. Kathleen's

Thank you to Mrs. Kathleen and Luke for inviting us to your home for lunch and the project. The kids had so much fun learning a new technique for making shirts, and socializing.

Meeting on Sept. 21st

Our next meeting is on September 21st, starting at 12 noon. We will be meeting at Kathleen's house for lunch and a diffent technique to tye dying shirts. Please be sure to bring a white shirt and make sure it is washed and dried.

Tye Dye

Our group had so much fun on the 14th at our meeting. We enjoyed social time, sidewalk chalk, tye dye shirts, and lunch. Thank you Denise and Carol for putting this on and welcoming us to your home.

Sept. 14th meeting

Our next group meeting will be on Sept. 14th from 10:30-12:30, and will include lunch. We will be tie dying shirts for the group. Please bring a white shirt for each person. There will be a few other activities planned as well.

Our meeting will be held at
1968 Dynasty Ridge. Take 252 east toward Morgantown; proceed for about 6.5-7 miles and turn right at the Dynasty sign. We are the first house on the right.

We want to thank Carol along with her daughter for hosting this and inviting us to their home!!

Labor Day

We will not be meeting on Sept. 7th due to it being a holiday (Labor Day). We hope everyone has a safe holiday, and we will see you on Sept. 14th for our next meeting!!

Our group will be meeting on Monday August 31st at 12 noon at the Cascades Park in Bloomington. We will enjoy a picnick lunch and then the kids will have time to be social and play. If you have any questions feel free to send us an email. Thanks!

We will be doing kites and Slash out at 1319 Morton Ave. if the weather works for us.It is the first left after the back entrance to K-Mart. If it is raining we will still be meeting but will do something else. Please wear clothes that you can get dirty or wet.

Group Meeting 8.17.2009

Monday, June 29th our group met at the park to enjoy some time making Ice Cream in a Can. Thanks Kristal for teaching us how to make this yummy treat, and bringing all the supplies! The kids really enjoyed rolling the cans down the slide, down the hills, across the concrete, ect. I am pretty sure they loved EATING the ice cream too!! Here are some pictures of our day.

Ice Cream In a Can~ 6/29/09

We will be meeting on Monday, June 29th at 2pm (Jimmy Nash Park in Martinsville). Kristal has planned this meeting and will be showing us~how to make Ice Cream in a can!! Don't wanna miss out on this one!! Also just in case she she is asking for everyone to wear something old that could possibly get stained. She might be bringing some berries for another activity!

Meeting on June 15th

We had a great turn out at the Hunter's Honey Farm field trip. Thank you to all for making it!! We hope that the kids enjoyed the tour and candle rolling.

A reminder that we will NOT be meeting on Monday May 25th, due to Memorial Day. Our next meeting will be on JUNE 1st. We will be meeting at the Southside in Indy for a tour at 2pm. If you have any questions please send us an email and we will get back with you asap. Hope to see you all there.

Hunter's Honey Farm Field Trip planned

Morgan County Home Educators group will be meeting at Hunter's Honey Farm in Martinsville on Monday May 18th at 2pm. We will be taking the Forestry Tour along with making candles. The cost is $5 per child (this includes both the tour and candles). This is such a great experience for the kids and they love to see where the honey comes from. There is also a shop at the building where you can purchase honey, honey sticks, and so much more. Please feel free to join us if your interested. Cascade Park Fun!

Our trip to Cascades Park in Bloomington was absolutely wonderful. It was such a nice day to go to the park for a picnic and play time. I think all the kids had a great time, and will def. want to go back again. Here are a few pics that were taken

Change in Upcoming Meeting

We will have our next meeting on Tuesday, May 12th at 12:30p. We will be meeting at the Cascades Park in Bloomington, IN. We are asking for everyone to bring a picnic lunch to eat. There will be a few fun games and a treat, other than that the kids will enjoy free time at the park. Our Field Trip to Cikana Fishery

Our field trip to the fishery was a sucess. The kids learned many things about a fishery and things are done. We enjoyed a slide show, and a walk down to the ponds.

Afterwards the kids sat down and enjoyed a snack ~ goldfish and gummy worms!! Very fishery appropriate. Thanks Kristal for planning this, we all enjoyed it.

Monday May 4th Meeting Info

We will be meeting on Monday May, 4th at Cikana State Fish Hatchery, here in Martinsville. It is located at 2650 State Road 44. Dads are always Welcome!!! We plan on meeting there about 5 minutes before 2 pm just to be ready at 2. Hope you can all make it:)

Monday April 27th Meeting Info

Our next meeting is on Monday April 27th at 2 pm. Please join us for "Helium Balloon Fun" at the park in Martinsville. So neat things for the kids to do, so don't miss it.

Earth Day

Our Monday meeting on April 20th was discussing EARTH DAY. Earth Day is celebrated on April 22nd. The group discussed the different ways to keep the Earth clean and things that we can do everyday. They enjoyed a handout, making a bird feeder, and a yummy snack of dirt pudding with gummy worms. Here are some pics of the kids hard at work.
